The PEG office was designed to support a dynamic and collaborative team, balancing openness with moments of focus. Rooted in a vision of authenticity, creativity, and connection, the space brings together light-filled environments with warm, residential-inspired elements to create a workplace that feels both functional and inviting.
The design responds to a diverse group of users, offering a variety of settings that accommodate both individual work and team interaction. From open work areas to enclosed meeting spaces, the layout encourages flexibility while maintaining a strong sense of cohesion throughout.

Balance: The central design challenge was harmonizing PEG's dual needs: a space that feels open and collaborative while still supporting quiet, individual focus. Layered onto this was the practical reality of obstructive structural columns, a tight timeline, and the ongoing negotiation between aesthetic ambition and budget.
Flexibility: The client envisioned a vibrant, youth-driven environment that celebrated creativity and identity. At the same time, the design needed to remain adaptable, durable, and timeless enough to serve the community over the long term. Integrating bold colours and dynamic forms in a controlled, intentional way ensured the space feels energetic and expressive without becoming overly themed or temporary.
Adaptive Reuse
Existing elements were thoughtfully repurposed to reduce construction costs while maintaining continuity within the space, allowing the design to focus on strategic, high-impact interventions.
Light Sharing
Glass-enclosed spaces, including the staff kitchen, allow natural light to extend throughout the plan, creating a brighter environment and ensuring all users benefit from daylight and shared views.
Flexibility
An operable wall between the staff room and meeting room enables the spaces to function independently or combine for larger gatherings, supporting a range of daily and event-based uses.
Equitable Access to Light: The design prioritizes shared access to natural light, using transparency and spatial planning to ensure daylight is distributed across the workplace rather than limited to perimeter spaces.
Connection & Belonging: Spaces are designed to foster both visual and social connection, supporting a sense of community while allowing individuals to feel comfortable and included within the broader team environment.
Adaptability for Daily Use: Flexible spaces support the evolving needs of staff, accommodating different work styles, group sizes, and informal interactions throughout the day.
Repurposed existing elements
By identifying what could be retained from the existing space and giving those elements a new purpose, the design team reduced construction costs without diluting the overall vision. Sustainability and budget pragmatism worked in tandem.
Glass-anchored staff kitchen
Positioned with glazing on two sides, the kitchen sits at theintersection of light and community. Every team member has access to naturalviews and shared daylight, reinforcing a sense of openness and equality acrossthe floor.
Flexible staff room + meeting room
An operable wall between these two adjacent spaces allows them to function independently day-to-day, then open up into a single large-format room for company gatherings, presentations, or hosted events. It's flexibility built into the architecture, not bolted on as an afterthought.
