
Lauren McPherson is Principal of the Calgary studio, leading operational, financial, and quality performance while fostering a collaborative culture aligned with Holland’s mission and evidence based design standards. With nearly two decades of experience, she brings a strong balance of creative vision, technical expertise, and strategic leadership.
Her career spans interiors focused firms and integrated architectural and engineering studios, giving her a broad understanding of projects across sectors and scales. A Registered Interior Designer through ARIDO, Lauren has contributed to award winning projects including Shaw Barlow Campus, Heenan Blaikie, and Red Crow Community College.
Lauren believes great design serves people in ways that are intelligent, inclusive, and sustainable. She approaches each project with clarity and empathy, guiding clients and teams toward a shared vision that anchors the process from concept to completion. Grounded in building science and regulatory frameworks, she moves beyond compliance to create environments that support diverse physical, emotional, and cognitive needs. She is particularly passionate about advancing evidence based and inclusive design within the industry.
Outside the studio, Lauren spends time with her two young boys, often outdoors with their dog or building ambitious Lego creations. She also enjoys working in the pottery studio and learning ceramics from her mother. With a background in biochemical engineering, Lauren has a deep appreciation for science, discovery, and lifelong learning. She is someone who genuinely enjoys digging into the building code.
